Licenciada en Economía, incluyendo un MBA, y doctora en Economía. Ha sido consultara para el Gobierno de Canarias, el Gobierno Español, la Comisión Europea, el Banco Africano de Desarrollo, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y el Banco Mundial. Sus áreas de especialización incluyen teoría de precios, medición de la eficiencia, previsión de demanda y diseño regulatorio para industrias de infraestructura. Recientemente, ha publicado en revistas como Transportation Research Part A, Transportation Research Part D, Utilities Policy, Research in Transportation Business & Management y Annals Operations Research. También, ha publicado libros y capítulos de libros sobre economía portuaria y marítima.
